I'm Maka, event and family photographer based in Connecticut

I believe the photographs we treasure most are rarely the ones we planned. They're the moments that unfold naturally—a laugh shared across the table, a child lost in play, a crowded dance floor, a quiet glance between family members.

As a mother of three and a lifelong observer of people, I've always been drawn to the stories happening around us. My approach is documentary at heart: noticing the details, the atmosphere, and the connections that make each family and celebration unique.

Fact 1

I was born and raised in Vancouver, so I have a separate passion for photographing streets and architecture.

02.

Fact 2

Sneaking in pictures of my friends when in their element is an old hobby of mine, so portraiture is like second nature to me.

03.

Fact 3

Just like with my photography, I enjoy the simpler things in life - being out and about with friends, good food, and nice views.

Fact 4

I love history, so if we’re out for a city session you will get a complimentary tour guide to distract you from the camera!

KIND WORDS

I always wanted to get professional portraits, but couldn’t shake the feeling that I’d be too awkward and shy for anything good to come out of it. I heard about Ethan from some mutual friends, and decided to give it a try. I am very glad I did, because I felt extremely comfortable during the whole process! He really did manage to catch “me” through the camera, with hardly any effort necessary on my part.
